View mobile website. When Strange Brigade launched it flew under my radar, until Radeon put up a performance post that caught quite a few site's eye and mine as well by announcing that with their Radeon Software We're more than familiar with Radeon's great performance under the Vulkan API so I had to pick up this game, if for nothing more than to test out how well the mGPU actually works.

I was expecting to see optimizations for Radeon since it's part of their current gaming bundle with their graphics cards but finally seeing a game launch with mGPU capabilities under Vulkan is something great. In a time where CrossFire and SLI seem to be less of a concern for developers and people wondering what the future held for such technologies since DX12 and Vulkan handle this very differently than DX11 and earlier APIs did, this is a breath of fresh air.

We chose not to do plus tests just to see whether or not it worked, we did settle on putting the hurt on the cards the best we could. That's why we went all out with 4K Ultra settings with Async Compute enabled, more games need to have this level of control in games. The R9 x2 was worth reviving from it's tomb for this test, after all it's not often mGPU support shows up these days.

Seven deadly sins x forgotten sin reader

Mt Vesuvius did not disappoint! While it didn't blow us away on the lower frame rate spectrum, seeing it walk way past the other cards on this list was very impressive.

I know there are many wondering where our GeForce results are in this. We don't have two of any of the GeForce cards in house, but did try to pair the GTX and GTX to no avail besides I'm fairly certain the driver is going to have to support this feature more than the game. We never intended for this to be a Radeon vs GeForce topic so we'll stop it there. The ultimate point of Vulkan supporting mGPU in this title is more than just marketing, it works and works well.

Playing through a period piece with quirky narration and a defiant sense of adventure through ancient civilizations is even better. With an endless array of puzzles, ruins and treasures to explore, Strange Brigade offers a gripping journey through Egypt in the s. Think Indiana Jones, if Indiana Jones had a charming British narrator commenting on your actions throughout the game even when you pause—what a sass.

As for processors, we tested the p resolution with a Ryzen 5 X and p with Ryzen 7 X. The Ryzen 5 G with Vega graphics also offer great playability. If you play at a higher memory, you could get close to 40 FPS:. If you ever want to be sure of what your settings will give you, Strange Brigade includes a useful Benchmark mode that you can use prior to entering the game.

Happy with your benchmark average? Strange Brigade is available now, so pick it up on Steamgrab a friend and embark through the treacherous traps and rip-roaring journey. Essentially, our chosen test titles are run with v-sync disabled at the settings described, and each new frame is marked up with a brightly coloured border. By tracking the border in our software, we can determine frame-rate and frame-time and overlay graphs with performance in context of the content. Multi-gigabyte video captures are condensed into frame data.

Every single frame is therefore available, with frame-times viewable by pressing play on the appropriate YouTube insert. For users running on PC or Mac, the graphs themselves are interactive. Mouse over a particular entry to get the appropriate reading, or better yet, click the graph for the arguably much more useful percentage differentials.

In short, every frame we capture is represented on these pages and you have as much or as little performance data as you desire. At-a-glance or deep-dive, it's all here. I was keen to try out a range of DX12 titles as AMD has been at the forefront of DX12 development and asynchronous compute in particular is a feature that can strongly benefit AMD hardware. What quickly becomes evident though is that GCN 1.

Navi vs Tahiti comparisons here show stratospheric gains for the new architecture, but the inclusion of our Polaris vs Navi testing shows gains very much in like with our DX11 results.

Interesting as they are, I don't think these results accurately chart the performance value of a GCN vs RDNA at the same core clocks, but let's dig in regardless.

Our first look at the Foundation Engine from Crystal Dynamics highlights the problem. The notion of modern game engines struggling on older hardware is nothing new, of course, and I can confirm that VRAM usage at both resolutions is nowhere near Tahiti's 3GB limit.

The lack of additional performance from Polaris's extra CUs in the Radeon RX continues to disappoint, something that extends to most of the games on this page.

OpenGL vs Vulkan

Cumulative percentage gains across the architectures result in Navi delivering an 84 per cent increase over Tahiti at p, dropping to It's a fairly implausible gap, and likely down to driver and API support. The later iteration of the Foundation Engine shows Navi extending its lead over Polaris a touch, but gains over Tahiti are still in 75 to 88 per cent territory, depending on resolution.

As we'll see on the next page, there are other limitations that may cause Tahiti to stall - such as geometry set-up, for example. However, here, we're running Shadow at medium settings, so this seems unlikely.

El barco temporada 4 capitulo 1

More likely is that GCN 1. Strange Brigade is one of AMD's favourites when it comes to benchmarking, with Rebellion's engine working extremely well with Radeon graphics hardware. The engine plays to the strengths of Team Red's GPUs and utilises asynchronous compute extensively - a godsend to AMD hardware which can be underutilised.

Once again, GCN 1. An interesting element of this title is that both Vulkan and DX12 are supported - but Vulkan is a touch slower on pretty much any GPU you care to test, and that includes the X. The lack of meaningful data from GCN 1. Also frustrating is that our graphing system fails to accurately render RX results so we've had to omit them. Regardless, with the gap between GCN 1. Head-to-head gains for Navi vs Polaris look plausible - and in line with many of our DX11 results.

Both are great and that statement doesn't mean you can't choose either of them. Taironis ifunny. Namaslay View Profile View Posts. Running on Windows pick DX Goro3d View Profile View Posts. I picked dx12 and no complaints so maybe I will give vulkan a try at my friends house if things get freaky lol.

Nvidia card? Pick always DX12! Hardwareunboxed did a great comparison video between the two modes. I'm using a GTXthere's barely any difference between them for me. DX12 gives very slightly better performance. Both run great though, around FPS average in the benchmark with everything maxed out at p.

Is directx 12 available for Win7? But if this game requires Directx12 and is win10 only, why in minimun requirements says Windows 7 64 bit? Max settings p 60 fps! Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 28 Aug, am. Posts: Discussions Rules and Guidelines.

In version 1. This utility will allow us to see how much of an impact modern APIs can have on our hardware, though today our testing will be limited to OpenGL, DirectX 12 and Vulkan on our Windows 10 test system. We have no plans to test this benchmarking tool on Linux or Android operating systems. As a PC-centric website, we will be using a Windows based test system, the most popular OS amongst gamers today.
